Is Vedintel AstroAPI a drop-in replacement for VedicAstroAPI?
Yes. Every endpoint follows the same format — same parameter names (dob, tob, lat, lon, tz, api_key), same JSON response envelope (status + response). The only difference is the base URL and your api_key value. Change those two environment variables and your entire integration migrates instantly.
What is the main technical difference between the two?
The fundamental difference is compute architecture. Vedintel runs Swiss Ephemeris 100% locally on our own servers — there is no third-party computation API call in the chain. This means zero dependency on external uptime. VedicAstroAPI's uptime depends on their external ephemeris computation chain.
Does Vedintel AstroAPI cost more or less than VedicAstroAPI?
For comparable call volumes, Vedintel is competitively priced and offers more for the money because all 80+ endpoints are included on every paid plan. With VedicAstroAPI, you pay separately for Vedic, Western, and Tarot APIs. With Vedintel, one plan covers everything including live Claude AI narratives.
Can I use both APIs during migration?
Yes. You can run both in parallel during testing by using different environment variables per service. Once you validate that all your endpoints work correctly on Vedintel, flip the main variable and you are done.
Does Vedintel support the same ayanamsas as VedicAstroAPI?
Yes. Lahiri (default), Raman, and KP ayanamsas are all supported via the ayanamsa= query parameter — the same as VedicAstroAPI. Charts generated with the same ayanamsa will produce identical planetary positions.
